After Tropical Storm Fay...

Well, we are surviving FAY, but there are others in our ward who weren't so lucky. We ended up getting 27 inches of rain in our area. There are lots of new ponds everywhere. Roads were closed up until yesterday, (a few still are) most everywhere had power out from a few hours to a few days. Ours was out from Friday afternoon until Saturday afternoon so we stayed at Nolan's parents house who had it on at least all night. Church was different than normal, but good. After the sacrament, bishop had it be an open discussion about who wasn't there and people that had had problems from everything or needed help. The men were sent in groups to go out and help. Most had trees down in yards, on houses, in their driveways, but one member ended up having four feet of water in his house. The roads were the same. Nolan and his dad and others in the ward went to go help them out and had to get down their road to the house in boats. A little scary, but no one was hurt. We are grateful for the rain, but even more so that we are safe. One good thing did happen, when we went back to our house on Sat., we were watching the storm from an open door (we needed some kind of ventilation with the power out) and Adalee randomly took three steps. Today she took four on her own. She likes to do it on her own and not being forced to! She is so funny!
